Hugh FW's River Cottage Events Barn burns down.

No doubt someone will move this into news etc, or the lounge but per title.

Mystery Fire , being investigated, Hugh away on a filming job.

If you are about to head towards a cookery course at the barn, divert to Axminster and the RC Canteen and "breakfast is on us."

All events and courses cancelled, phones are SNAFU'd apparently so they will be in contact.

Canteen and Deli operating normally.

Just saw this on the news, nothing left of the cookery school but they do say they are going to put a temporary measure in place so the school can continue. Obviously not going to up and running tomorrow though!

Very sad! I went on a course there for a bit of fun a few years back. Went out fishing with Hugh and Nick fisher then back to HQ to cook up what we caught. Had a bloody good day and made to feel welcome by all the team.

Hugh has done some good work for animal welfare and the fisheries despite what anyone thinks. Oh and on a PH note when I was there he was running an LPG 4.0 Cherokee which we discussed in length.

Hope they get it up and running again soon!

Gutted for them. Was in that very kitchen a couple of weeks back for a 'Saturday night at river cottage'. The team all came across as very genuine and the food was absolutely top notch. Hopefully they're back up and running soon
