Tesco are currently offering a coupons = 70% discount on Thomas knives. Anyone heard of or got these knives and are they any good?

Don't know but have 4 tokens. Need 5 I think.

Just bought the 2 Santoku knives (£4.99 for the large one, £4.49 for the small). Not used yet but first impressions are very well weighted and nice and sharp.

I have managed to collect quite a few of these tokens and am keen on buying the knives from Tesco. They are a good price with the discount.
Does anyone have experience of the quality and weighting of these?

As per my previous reply, they're well balanced in the hand. They appear to be formed from a single piece of steel, which I like as it makes them easy to clean with no gaps/cracks for dirt/bacteria.

Will be using them in anger all weekend (several dished lined up to test them on) - post abuse report to follow.

Used all weekend for any number of chopping/slicing duties. Blade takes abuse well, balance is good, feels great in the hand.

Total bargain at the price!

How long is the offer on for? Not been at home much of late so minimal shopping/vouchers.

'while stocks last' I believe?

Seems I've got a couple of months (the last similar offer seemed well stocked for ages).

I can't seem to find anywhere else that sells 'Thomas' knives...

Seeing as these knives don't appear to be for sale anywhere else, even on the Rosenthal website, I assume they are made just for Tesco. As such I have no idea how they can justify the "discount".

They were probably offered at full price in a dark corner of a store behind an immovable object.

I'm more interested in knowing if they're actually any cop - I spend 20-30 quid a week in there anyway.

The 'discount' is irrelevant, for the money you pay (with the vouchers of course), they're very good value.

Collect vouchers until the 22nd of April and about a month or so later to redeem them.

Bought my first one today and managed to sweet talk five vouchers out of the checkout lady for my next one!

Is it 70% off one knife for every five vouchers or 70% off as many knives as you want to buy for every five vouchers?

One at a time sadly!

I got a couple of Thomas frying pans when they had a similar offer before Christmas, very pleased with them.

If you are cheeky enough to ask, they may give you some tokens that other people have passed on. I only realised about the pans a few days before the offer ended and the bloke on check-out gave me a big wodge of tokens.

Tried that but I had the ugly battle axe checkout lady not the cute blonde one frown

It's often good to queue up behind a bloke, except me! Generally blokes don't care for deals or specials or collecting vouchers to buy womans tools! Chances are if you're behind a guy he'll not want his vouchers and you may be able to purloin them!
