anyone been to Hawksmoor Seven Dials ?
Discussion
This coming weekend will be my first time to the Hawksmoor. Really looking forward to it, even more so that its my birthday present from the mrs.
Not sure what cut of steak to go for. I was going to go safe and just get the ribeye (14oz for £28) only because im not sure on the other cuts. Being a steakhouse noob and only ever had ribeye or fillet before.
Any info / advice ?
Cheers

Went to Seven Dials the other week for the first time, as mentioned in another thread.
Really enjoyed it, but as I was on my own I didn't go for one of the +900g cuts off the blackboard. However, since your'e going with the missus, you'll have no problem doing just that.
For what it's worth my 600g sirlion from the menu was fantastic anwyay, but a chateaubriand/porterhouse/prime-rib from the board will be amazing I'm sure.

Have been a number of times, all of which have been great. The best steak we had was a shared 1.2kg prime rib off the blackboard which came in a cast iron skillet and they offered to slice it which made sharing easier. Its not a cheap night out but well worth it. On a monday night you can take your own wine for a £5 corkage which is very reasonable I think ( spend the extra on a larger steak!!). Also the tripple cooked chips are sublime and better than the beef dripping chips.

Glad you said that, as I went for the triple cooked chips for my visit. After doing some prior research the beef dripping chips looked more like big wedges which isn't my thing. The triple cooked chips were divine, I must say.
Other side I went for was the grilled bone marrow, wasn't as impressed with that but had to give it a go as I'd never tried it before.

Funny, I thought the bone marrow with onions was excellent apart from burning the roof of my mouth!! St. John also does the marrow well but you have to dig it out first and then it comes with parsley and salt that transforms the flavour. The triple cooked chips were divine, I must say.

Thought i would update this thread..
Went there on Sat.. Everything about the dinner and the restaurant itself was spot on. Cant rate it high enough.
As we wanted to go for a more manageable budget we didnt order off of the chalk boards.
Starter (shared between 2)
Tamworth Belly Ribs
Grilled Bone Marrow and Onions
Both were amazing, very rich but amazing and moreish. The Belly ribs were pretty big and didnt really have much in the way of bone. Was pretty much all meat in a sauce that after a while got a bit spicy.
The bone marrow with onions were like something out of the Flintstones. They were HUGE ! came with 2 slices of toast and was probably one of the best things i've ever eaten.
Mains
2x 400g Ribeye - Meadium Rare
2x Triple Cooked Chips
1x Mac n cheese
The steaks had the most perfect char on them and came exactly as ordered. Very very juicy and had an amazing taste. Really a very good steak
Chips were "too crunchy" said the mrs.. I thought they were perfect.
Mac n cheese... had better at home. So wont be ordering that again
All in. With 2 cocktails, and a couple of beers as well bill came in at £130 including service charge. If we had ordered from the boards it would have come in a lot higher than that.
Great meal, lovely restaurant. 9/10
