Just noticed today that Carlsberg Export and Stella Artois have been reduced to 4.8 ABV? Stella used to be 5.2 then 5.0 and now this? Why the change? Is this a UK thing?

Well, you know how Stella Artois has been referred to in court by a judge as "Wife Beater"? They don't exactly like that image and I guess this is part of their move to stop it being popular as the can that men on benefits drink before physically abusing their spouses.

its why a lot of spirits are being cut to 35% as well - you dont see it as much as you do at the fuel pump, but duty rates are inredibly high.
