A follow-on to the Best Steak I've Ever Cooked thread - kinda.

Just back from lunch at Goodmans on Maddox St. I've been before and had a decent bit of meat, but today's was something else.

A 450g T Bone from a Belted Galloway cow, cooked medium-rare.

I'll admit I'm quite partial to a bovine feast, but this was quite simply the best bit of steak I've had - cooked to perfection (would have been just as good done medium, too) and had a wonderful flavour to it that is so far removed from what you get in a supermarket and most butchers it beggars belief.

Topped off with a side of truffle chips, it was the perfect way to ease back into work after a long bank holiday weekend.

No pics I'm afraid as I was too busy eating with one hand, and hiding a raging stumpher with the other.

Have they gone all continental in London town then?
We still have 16 oz steaks down here in the sticks.

Goodmans is the place off Regent Street, isn't it? If so, I can concur that they cook some of the best steaks in town.

The online menu is only part of it - they also have chalk boards in the restaurant that shows the varieties and cuts available on any given day. The Belted Galloway was on the specials board, and as said above, it was bloody fantastic!
