Discussion
So being totally hooked on tripe D at the moment I thought I would continue the theme into this fortnights competition. I know the weights are all funny as its american but its not that differcult to work them out I dont think.
Rules are as follows.
1, You must choose a recipe from the list found here there's a 100 to choose from so there must be something for everyone ranging from easy to hard and varying amounts of time to prepare and cook.

2, Entrants must use their imagination on presentation.
3, You are allowed a maximum of 3 photos
4, Entries must be placed by Monday 14th May giving 2 full weekends.

I haven't been able to access your link - first time I tried I got a 'pop-up blocked' message and also IE had blocked other content from the site.
I tried again and scroll bars didn't work so I haven't been able to view any recipes.
It could just be my comp being overly security conscious.

Is this the right corner for a 'what the hell are you on about'?
And I have clicked the link.
Thread does seem to be going off direction a little. And I have clicked the link.
It's more like "re-create a recipe competition" rather than a cooking comp at all.
I can't cook for toffee but i always come back and vote also drool over some of the creations but a copy a recipe comp ain't working for me.

I take it you don't follow instructions well then Cal?
Shirley every one of these comps has been simply recreating a recipe, is that not what cooking is? You take someone else's recipe and cook it for you own. Every time I enter the comps on PH I look at the brief, understand what I need to do, then go and look for a recipe for me to recreate within the guidelines of the brief.
I could have titled it "American drive-in food" I guess but I thought this way its more specific having a series of recipes to chose from.

I get the recipe bit, but have never heard of triple d or seen the site for food network before.
Food Network is a channel on your digital television set MB upon which Diners, Drive-ins and dives is shown I suggest you try and find it as its rather good... Think along the lines of man v food but without eating the same quantity.cal216610 said:
Sorry Pixel,
Just thought that previous comps had a specific ingredient from which to create rather than a whole recipe.
Looking at the link i am interested to see what you guys produce though.
Understand where your coming from Cal, just thought that instead of having quite a broad theme as we have had in the past, having a list to chose from with differing ability's might gain a few more entries.Just thought that previous comps had a specific ingredient from which to create rather than a whole recipe.

I thought there where some interesting ideas in the recipes and without any real pictures of the end result it would make you think abit more about how to present the dish. Two people could pick the same dish yet present it totally different, I feel alot of the time I vote on how the dish sounds in print and what it looks like on the plate, as of course were unable to actually taste them.
If that makes sense.
the site redirects me here http://www.foodnetworkasia.com/?omnisource=gid_pac... being in the pacific rim. I assume that this will be acceptable
