prompted by a thread on another forum.

so, what different things would you want to try but cant get hold of...

I have since seeing the hairy bikers go to vietnam(i think) and try dog, thinking it was pork or duck, i want to know what this tastes like, i know dogs are pets an all, an I quite like them, but some people have goats, sheep, pigs and even horse as pets, an that gets eaten.

also, seen on some food show of some type, there was turtle soup, i really like them but would like to eat one aswell lol, but not allthe time, just the once with dog.

I wonder if the different breeds of dog taste different, say what would a boned and butterflyed chiwawa taste like compere to a staff steak.

The treatment the dogs recieve before being eaten is barbaric! I would happily see it banned

Always fancied having a taste of croc, although the thought of eating some thing s really would turn my gut.
Also reminds me of the bank ad where he cooks those locusts or whatever they are and add a few sprinkles on it for the kid yuck

If I could be assured of welfare standards I'd quite happily eat anything with its back to the sun.

However if people are poor enough to consider carnivores as 'food', I can't imagine said food had a happy life, or a humane end.

By the way, crocodile is a disapppointment. It doesn't have much flavour apart from being vaguely fishy, but it has a horrible gummy texture. yuck

Balut. It sounds revolting but i'm assured it's a delicious (if acquired) taste.

We did the 2250 km ride all through Vietnam, started in the north, through Hanoi, ended in the south in Saigon.

We had lots of "Beef" except it wasn't beef.

M best guess it was buffalo, may have been dog, but suspect it was buffalo.
.

.
Also Crocodile steaks in Durban South Africa.
Ostrich meat in S.A.
Sea cucumber in China.
.

.
How about "Bamboo fungus" , any one tried it yet?

I've had dog before, the taste reminds me of a Golden Eagle mixed with poached swan (from the queens back garden) but don't tell anyone I said that.

Coolaid. would love to try the stuff, don't know where to buy it. Don't fancy paying stupid prices for it on import sites online.
Also fine bulgar wheat. Afew years back I was at a Turkish friends house and their mother made an excellent bowl of Kisir. Since then I've always wanted to try and make it, but the supermarkets only sell the coarse kind.

This will mark me out as a weirdo, but I've always wondered what human flesh tastes like.

Is it really 'like pork'?

Obviously I wouldn't want to sample a chain-smoking, burger-chomping chav, but I'd have a go at a free-range organic vegetarian.

It's completely impossible to buy Hendersons Relish in Manchester.

Tried mail order, but this happened.
