Exotic meats

Is there anywhere in Bristol that does meat like ostrich, pigeon or horse/zebra etc? I quite fancy trying some but due to my accomodation arrangement it isnt practical to mail order it, and the delivery charges are all extortionate anyway

Source in st nicks will do uk game when in season (not a lot in season at the moment). they had a lot of squirells on the counter when I went in an hour ago.

There is an ostrich farm on the way out of Long Ashton on Weston Road with a farm shop. I assume they sell the meat in the shop.

Whilst your at it, get some Boerwars suasage, do it on the BBQ, don't overcook, it should be away from direct heat. Best food you can ever do on the BBQ.

It's a really nice little shop down there but from memory they don't have a lot, if anything really, in the way of fresh meat (ostrich, kudu etc). Mostly packed dried stuff and treats/snacks etc. Still worth a look though and I might be wrong.

Never seen it before but this place might be your best bet, either on Baldwin street or up Gloucester Rd just past the arch (assuming both shops are still open).
