I snapped a shot of this today walking back from the butcher's shop here in sunny Yorkshire... An important message no doubt, perhaps not parked in the appropriate place though. The irony!

This thread has real potential.

Pot Noodle omelette from the days before camera phones, would be my entry.

Good advice.
My dad once buttered some bread before putting it in the toaster after he'd had a couple of pints.
He then stood back to watch my mum tackle the flames.

A guy from work got home drunk one night with the munchies. Opened the fridges, and spied a bowl of egg yolks. On goes the frying pan, and in they go. After a couple of mins, they weren't cooking. He got bored, turned off the cooker and went to bed.

In the morning, he went downstiars, and his mrs asked why he was trying to cook apricots last night.

I used to think I was some culinary genius when it came to 'drunk dinner party cooking'. The reality of course is that everyone else was pissed and couldn't tell how bad it was.

There was a rather tasty 8 series old BMW parked next to it, but I didn't want to spoil the thread with distraction.

I have the Haynes Men's Cooking manual; it is good.

I'm currently living in wooden house. Electric cooker, 4am fry-up bad idea. Thankfully the smoke alarm woke me up.

Spotted that van near at the fire station in Holmfirth yesterday. Sound advice - my uncle burnt his house down cooking a bacon sandwich when drunk. He was lucky a neighbour noticed and got him out (had fallen asleep).

On the way back from a night out I picked up a frozen pizza from the 24hr garage at the end of my road. It was much cheaper than a full kebab. I get home, oven on, pizza in, set alarm (on phone) for 10 mins, sit down, ZZzzzzzzzzz... Alarm clock, roll over hit snooze...
One burnt pizza frown

It's a Lion. Allegedly.

(Fire station. Probably a 'cutting exercise' car.)

My neighbour arrived home pissed one night - and put some pasta on the cooker.

Two hours later, we had to call the fire brigade, as she had passed out on her bed upstairs, and the pan was burning quite nicely...

Smoke everywhere and she was most embarrassed.

So cooking when drunk is a truly bad idea.

I got home with a takeaway pizza, and decided to warm it up in the oven, but I didn't take it out of the box. It just turned to a pile of glowing ash, I was gutted.
