Help finding lunch in Mayfair

Today I really fancied a freshly made steak baguette for lunch.

I work on Grosvenor Street, but couldn't think of anywhere nearby that would do it.

I suspect this craving will hit me again in the not-too-distant future, so where would one procure such a gastronomic impossibility in the area?

Pretty close to a steak baguette would be the fillet steak sandwich at Aubaine on Dover Street.

I started a 'lunch in central London' thread in FDR a year(?) ago.
I'm sure someone mentioned steak sandwiches in that (though my recollection is that it was the OP )

Someone told me that Harvey Nicolls 5th Floor does a very good steak sandwich to take away. Not quite Mayfair.....

I'd also try this place it's about the best sandwich bar in Mayfair....Le Petit Cafe

Has a bit of a cult following. Hole in the wall but the food is very good by those standards.

Another vote for Le Petit Cafe they do a nice freshly roasted ham some days and the chicken curry ain't bad either but no steak sandwich's unfortunately, only salt beef.

Tried the Harvey Nich's steak sandwich and its good - decent size sirloin cooked in front of you to your liking.

Bingo. Guinea Grill just off Berkley Square.....haven't been there in a very long time but the pub at the front does a steak sandwich. I 'd think that should be pretty good.

It's only about 5 mins from where I work. Maybe I'll have to try one....

Honestly think the last time I had food in there was in the 90's. No idea why now I think of it. Before all the Gaucho's etc popped up it was one of the places to go for a steak. Maybe it still is!

There's a street food market outside St. James' Church on Piccadilly every Monday, and there's a guy there who does Argentinian rib-eye sandwiches for six quid. Not had one, but there's always a queue. Loads of other good places there too (Panka Peruvian food is superb).

Used to work in Mayfair in the 90's. Mayfair hotel did a great steak baguette, surely they must still do?
