Reminds me of mouldy Garlic with regards to looks (have a few cloves left from a bulb I bought on a whim a few months back) smell is somewhat unique and not really found a place for it in my kitchen yet. Thinking of using in soups once it gets cold.

I've bought it a couple of times, it's lost the sharpness that 'fresh' garlic has and instead there is a much mellower flavour with a hint of sweetness IMO, but it's really not strong. tbh I wasn't bowled over by it, not proper hot smoked garlic, that's proper nice!!

You can buy a smoked pastrami off the deli (at the knutsford one anyway) which is the most amazing cured meat I've ever had the good fortune to enjoy. The shop is a wonderful mix of the obscure and overpriced everyday goods.

Do enjoy the black garlic with my bruschetta or barca bread actually. Milder taste.

The best thing to do is just bake the whole bulb with a dash of wine and some herbs, then eat on fresh bread with plenty of salt.
Also try the colossal elephant garlic - the taste is amazing. Luckily I live next door to the garlic farm!

Booths makes waitrose look like a supermarket for steaters. It's a cracking place. That deli counter in knutsfird is sublime.

It is that. As is the patisserie lick (sorry for the mini threadjack) do try and stick to just buying specialist items from them though or else it costs a fortune (the raspberry vinegar is good too btw, makes a great dressing)
