somewhere to eat Ross on wye

As title, need a decent meal then a few good pubs in Ross on Wye tonight, cheers.

My other half is from Ross, and when we go back there our favourite place to eat is Yaks'n'yetis, a Nepalese restaurant with friendly service and reasonable prices.

They do lovely food however when I went it was cash (or cheque) only and you can take your own alcohol as they don't serve it.

What sort of food/price? While I work here, I commute in so can't say anything for going to the pubs in the evening but as for food though there is a place called Yaks and Yeti's which is oriental/tibetan food and I hear has a good name (can't vouch as I haven't actually got round to going there yet!)

Also the White Lion Inn on the river Wye was very nice last time I went there, good food, nice pint and a nice view overlooking the river (the latter less relevant if it is dark though).

Then there is the Beefeater on the roundabout at the end of the m-way. I'm not recommending this, I'm just pointing out it is there, in case of emergency.

Had a great meal there a few years back when we visited.

Thanks for your replies, i wanted to go to yaks and yetis but the wife wasnt keen, we went to indian summer instead, absolutley cracking meal, really nice, they now serve alcohol so when we turned up with a few bottles of Cobra they we ok with this but i felt a dick, didnt go around the town for a drink but stopped in the hotel and sat on the terrece, this was the Royal hotel and it had spectacular views.
On a P.H note, we went down to Gloucester, spent a few hours hooning around the forest of dean, visited Monmouth then stayed at Ross, returned to Cheshire this morning, the car did 250 miles and returned 30mpg, not bad for a 3.0 petrol that, well lets just say enjoyed some spirited driving
