Tesco in Reading (Napier Road hypermarket, there are 14 Tescos in Reading!) famously received zero stars a few years ago. Clearly not a freak result, the cafe received zero at the same time...

Mine was shut down temporarily and the owner apologised in public. Needless to say, i feel sick by just walking past the place and taking a whiff! Still if people insist on eating rubbish ...

Mine are all 1 star for the kebab shops, 2 star for the Indians and chineses, and all the pubs are 2/3 stars. Some of these places charging £20 for a meal!

The only place with a 5 star rating is the waitrose and a kebab van

Our local Chinese takeaway is a 1 - yecch!! Don't food establishements have to show their ratings on their window? Can't say I've noticed it.

Hmm - the local indian I use (which has always produced very tasty food) - scored 1 in June. That does make me hesitate to rush back - in fact, the kebab vans seem to score higher!

I saw a documentary about it and no they don't have to. Many peopple who get a 3 or less just don't display it as it might hurt business.

There are various apps that show this information too.. ideal when out and about, and paranoid

the Tesco in central london that was closed due to a mice infestation got scored 1, so I have no idea how bad things have to be to get zero hehe

Anyone know how this scheme is scored?

hehe Trutfully, I had a pint in there on the day I moved in to my new house & haven't set foot in the place in the intervening six years. I give you the Alexandra, a sickly we of a boozer.

Local pubs are mostly 5.

Another local eatery with 1 star. If it looks this good on the outside, you can bet your mortgage, they're diligently throwing out the ten day old pepperoni with mouse droppings on it.

Same here, I stopped going there years ago though as it went from being good to terrible.
One of my local pubs is a 1 too, that surprised me although I've never eaten there, doesn't seem too bad on first impressions.
