Cutting corn kernels off

Hi,

Just open a tin of the above and noticed they are
all perfect shape, unlike when you cut them off with a knife.

Anyone know how they do that.

Cheers for the reply. I find that hard to imagine,
because they've smaller diameter top and bottom than in the middle.

I have a twelve quid apple peeler that more or less does the same thing. it is spring loaded so just follows the contours. It slices at the same time too. And takes the core out.

When you take the apple core out, it take a lot of the apple with it.

If you done the same with a corn cob you'd either
cut into the kernels (making them not perfect) or
you'd still have kernels stuck to the core.

I know this is an odd thread, but just wondered.

They don't. They grown the kernels sans cob in hidden facilities where they also test makeup on monkeys and stuff.

I think they heat it up until the kernels pop off the cob. Then they take each individual piece of popcorn and push it back into itself so that it becomes a kernel again.
