Best chippy in the country?

Must be plenty on here that love a good chippy tea so what's the best you've had?

I went to Pepper Lane last night in Shevington/Standish and it still stacks up as the best I've had. Perfect fish, great batter and spot on chips. They let you stick as much Salt & Vinegar as you want on (I usually have plenty) and the staff are really quite friendly, not something that can be said for the chippies in St. Helens.

bryan street chippy in blackburn best fish and chips you can get perfect crispy batter had fish and chips all over the country nowere else comes close

Best I have ever had was in Blackburn. Not sure of the name but it was on Bryan Street.

i read it 'had cock' which either means your kinda slutty or went to Thailand for some dodgy operation

I cannot remember the last time I had any quality fish and chips .
How much I pay does seem to make any difference either.

I have now given up until I am recommended a good plaice locally

The fish & chip shop in Fore Street(?), Beer, Devon.
As a kid in the sixties it was superb. Revisited a few years ago and it was as good as I remembered.

The van on Tobermory pier is in Les Routier - two weeks to go to my next visit

Murgatroyd's in Yeadon (near Leeds/Bradford airport) is superb. As is the Mermaid in Morley.

The honour can't go to anywhere that doesn't know what a proper fishcake is though

I live within a five minute walk of two award winning chippys. I think fish and chips in general are massively over rated so I rarely go to either of them.
