Real American Fried Chicken in London

OK Im not talking about KFC or similar type places. I am looking for somewhere that is a proper restaurant in London to take some American friends to. They love the kind of places you find in the South USA where you get fried chicken served home style with mash potato, gravy and green beans and all that. Any suggestions? I cant find anywhere, all the US style restaurants seem to concentrate on burgers, steak and bbq. Help!
What you're looking for is a "Soul Food" restaurant. Like BBQ and Mexican, it's really rare in the UK.
There's two that I know of in London, one of which a friend of mine has been to, he says its not bad.
That would be Jays Soul Food which is a little south of Brixton and North of Croudon, think he said Norwood. There's also a place that I've heard of called The Spot near Maida Vale, but I'm told its Halal, so not sure how authentic it is as real soul food has lots of pork.

When my wife's company have English people over to NYC they always take them to the English pub in Brooklyn. I do not think they have realized that the Brits do not want to get English food in the US. I would say the same is probably true of your friends. It is unlikely they will want Southern US food done badly. Take them somewhere that does good English food and blow their minds. Everyone in the US thinks the Brits can not cook and have bad teeth. Do not prove that by taking them to somewhere that is an imitation of cooking the Yanks do best.

RedDog Saloon, Hoxton Square. It's the absolute tits. None of those places do southern style fried chicken though do they?
