homemade pizza help
Discussion
i'm currently attempting homemade pizza.
made the base as per instrctions, flower, salt yeast etc, kneaded it as i was supposed, then letting stand for the required hour, which is when its supposed to have doubled in size.
hour has gone by, an it looks the same???
no where near doubled?
anyone know where icould have messed up?
thanks in advance

Some sugar/honey with the yeast and warm water is good to get it started; you can see the bubbles start. Not sure what adding some now would do.
I'd be tempted to just roll it out and leave it somewhere warm. You don't need a pizza base to rise like a loaf of bread and it'll probably rise a bit in the oven anyway.

You could probably warm it up in the oven. That's the great thing about cooking for yourself- the worst that can happen is a disaster. And so what? You just laugh and phone for a pizza.
Photos, please, if it is a disaster.
ha,ha, i could end up a disaster photo tonight.Photos, please, if it is a disaster.
right moved it somewhere warmer, if no joy, i'll try the oven for s

How hot was the water you mixed your yeast in? Much more than body temp will kill it and the dough will never rise.
ah! it wasn't boiling, but was warm. think that could be it. i did everything as i should, but the dough just seemed abit to moist and it would not rise.its now in the bin, tried everything but couldn't save it

bit gutted, but ho, hum.
