Storing Coffee Beans..

I've been buying ground coffee from Smokeybarn for a while now, I emailed him a couple of months ago and asked about the best way of storing the ground coffee and was sensibly told buy it as beans and grind it as needed.
So, just about to order 1kg of beans and a grinder. I don't drink a huge amount so that will take me two months to get through. Can I store the beans in the freezer to keep them fresh till needed and just say get out a weeks worth at a time?

We buy coffee beans at about a months worth at a time...we just go for the cool/dry/dark/sealed. Don't bother with the freezer personally.

I wouldn't pretend to be a connosieur though!
