What is in the cubed meat on pizza from cheap takeaways?

Anyone know what is in the processed chicken/meat cubes and non-fillet burgers that you get in cheap takeaways?

The texture isn't the same so is there other stuff in there??

At for the reputable pizza houses. The others just use "stray" cats and dogs.

In a lot of the takeaways around here the pepperoni/ham etc... is usually a halal turkey based replacement, still tastes good.
A lot of the meat in kebeab shops is halal to and IMHO better quality for it.

I think It's pretty much the same except the nasty bits they probably put in.


I have a friend who chomps on the smaller/softer chicken bones to suck out all

Did some googling.

The processed meat is all gathered together from leftovers, the end result is a pink sludge.

So to change the color to something more palatable requires chemicals including Ammonia. To get rid of the Ammonia taste artificial flavourings are then added.

In the states this so called 'mechanical' meat has to be labeled as such.

Think in future I'll go with paying a bit more and getting actual chicken...

Far easier and cheaper to get prepared meat from the wholesaler.

Quality might be better, but the horrific way they are killed in the name of "god" is not so good.

It depends how you prepare them. If the whole animal goes in the mincer it doesn't take long at all.

As for catching you only need to set up an "animal shelter" nearby and people will bring stock for miles around without you having to do anything. With a bit of luck they might even donate some money.

Horses for courses. Chicken and Lamb is exactly the same - with beef you either slit the throat or shoot it in the head with a captive bolt. One doesn't sound any better than the other.

In takeaways it's definitely cheese, fairly cheap stuff admittedly, but still cheese
