It's mechanically recovered meat, ie. the fragments which are blasted off butchered carcasses with high pressure hoses.
The resulting slurry is then formed and compressed into 'meat'.
Mmmm...
Just think of all of us that eat at BBQs' we eat as much off the bone as we can. Nom nom,The resulting slurry is then formed and compressed into 'meat'.
Mmmm...

I think It's pretty much the same except the nasty bits they probably put in.
I have a friend who chomps on the smaller/softer chicken bones to suck out all
the marrow.
Did some googling.
The processed meat is all gathered together from leftovers, the end result is a pink sludge.
So to change the color to something more palatable requires chemicals including Ammonia. To get rid of the Ammonia taste artificial flavourings are then added.
In the states this so called 'mechanical' meat has to be labeled as such.
Think in future I'll go with paying a bit more and getting actual chicken...

The others just use "stray" cats and dogs.
For the amount of time and effort incurred in chasing/trapping/ stray cats and dogs and the amount of meat obtained after skinning/preparing them for consumption it's just not worth it.Far easier and cheaper to get prepared meat from the wholesaler.

In a lot of the takeaways around here the pepperoni/ham etc... is usually a halal turkey based replacement, still tastes good.
A lot of the meat in kebeab shops is halal to and IMHO better quality for it.
Quality might be better, but the horrific way they are killed in the name of "god" is not so good.A lot of the meat in kebeab shops is halal to and IMHO better quality for it.

As for catching you only need to set up an "animal shelter" nearby and people will bring stock for miles around without you having to do anything. With a bit of luck they might even donate some money.
