Beaujolais can be ok, its the Noveau stuff thats suitable only for making cheap vinegart at my graduation ball telling me how the wine was pretty crap at the ball. Phew - I thought I was going to be the only one to say I prefer using Asda white vinegar to clean the washing machine.I do remember Beaujolais Nouveau day being a big deal back in the '80s though.

Hello RG... Hope you and Pod are well.... That was the bit I was trying to get across..... Romance and danger......I remember (in my early 20's) people racing through the night from the UK aiming to be the first people to bring back the Beaujolais and how I longed (when rich enough) to jump in the Bentley and blast through Europe to join the Gentlemen's club....Sort of did it in a Tuscan in the 2004 Eurohoon as the final day ended at the Moët Chateaux but I think it's all passed me by... The fact that Every day good French wine is so easily available (and that everyone has cottoned on to the fact that the Beaujolais Nouveau isn't) has ruined the whole event.....
Sad but true..... Anyway, tomorrow I shall buy a bottle of 2012 B.N. and toast the past over a plate of Escargot.... Both being available in Waitrose 10 minutes up the road....
