which saucepan set £100?

Hi,

thinking of christmas i need new saucepans ( thrilling ).

any rec for a good set under £100 - need some non stick ones desperately

I think the John Lewis 'The Pan' range is pretty good for heat conduction and its non-stick capabilities.

I have a couple of these, used almost daily, and after four years they're holding up well. A Jamie Oliver Tefal pan (a TK Maxx cheapie) lost its coating after about a year.

BUT, they're made from aluminium and therefore won't work on induction hobs. Probably why they're so cheap.

If you are close to an outlet mall with a Le Creuset outlet, the Tri Vita stuff is excellent.

cool i was looking at the jl ones as theres money off them at the mo - not nr outlet unfortunately - pans are really the kind of things best bought in a sale but need them soon! thanks

Costco have some decent pan sets - not sure what non stick ones they have but worth a look if you're a member

I agree, but for the OP's budget, even at 'outlet prices', £100 isn't going to buy much when the smallest omelette pan (the one I have) is £46. Supposedly that's with 25% off as John Lewis are 'matching a competitor's event'.

Thinking a little laterally, I bought an electric food steamer from Tesco for £15-odd, in which I cook all my veg since I think it gives a better result than a pan on the hob.

You can do a full meal in it, layering fish/meat at the bottom, and vegetables on top. Supposedly a healthy way of cooking too. An option to consider?

OP, you probably only need one or two non-stick pans in your kitchen.

Good quality copper based stainless steel pans will give you much greater service, and will improve the results of your food with practice.

I would go after anodised pans.

These are a bargain but I don't think they work on an induction hob.
