Cheers Dave, went to the Turmeric. I don't claim to know much about Indian's but it was very nice and the service was excellent so thumbs up here (though over four quid for a pint of lager didn't go down so well!! smile).

Good to hear its a good place we have booked here for our Christmas doo although 4 pound a pint doesn't seem so clever

Went to the Rupali last night. I have never seen so much fking food, I felt embarrassed at having to leave quite a bit of it but the portions are massive.

Utterly delicious, well recommended, though the beer's still too fking expensive biggrin

We ended up at the place opposite the railway station. Can't remember what it was called but the food was excellent.

Thanks for that, might be chancing Cov tomorrow night and was wondering whether to try and find somewhere in the city or drive out to the Rupali again.

Random question but would people expect the average Indian to be busy on New Years Eve?

You should try the Turmeric Gold place listed above if you want somewhere different. I dont think I am alone in thinking it is nicer than Shimla (better location too)
