Where are you going tonight thread

There's nothing better than spending the day contemplating an evening of good food and drink!

So here's the idea, let's share our dining out plans for the evening, with a link if possible, so as to heighten the anticipation and also potentially give some inspiration for future venues.

To start us off, tonight I am going to the Adelphi Hotel in Leeds; far from haute cuisine, what is on offer is a fantastic, cosy traditional city pub, serving tremedous beer and delicious food.

It's a regular spot for us, on average I'd say we visit once a fortnight usually midweek.

Well this is sort of retrospective, but last night I was in Bristol so had a few ales in the Cornubia, followed by dinner at Old India.

If you are looking for something of a little higher standard I'd recommend Lido.

Currently I'm in Chicago. Last night was a 'pit beef' sandwich in a dingy pub with a few beers. Delicious, it was.. Tonight it will be sushi. There happens to be a RA sushi right by my hotel. It's not my favourite, but consistent, and a good happy hour. www.rasushi.com

Tomorrow night will be lost on an aircraft, back home to Hong Kong.

Well tonight we cashed in the 3x bar snacks we won in last weeks pub quiz (best team name) and chose mini baked brie, pulled pork skaters and chorizo.

So that served as starters, wife then had ox cheek and red wine pie, with kale mash, while I had a pork and chorizo burger topped with pulled porked and cheese. For simplicity, this henceforth will be known as 'epic burger'.

Lovely food and surroundings, accompanied by 4 or a bit real ales for me and a simular number of halves of fruli for the mrs.

With our taste card it weighed in at a bargain tastic £35. Superb.

Sat in O'Hare as I type awaiting the 8.30pm back to Heathrow. So I shall be drinking warm fizzy beer and eating crap food. I would have eaten in the airport, but as you probably know, airside T5 you are limited to soggy sarnies and beers at $8.25 for a small bottle.

How strange, I had exactly this at a pub in Epsom called the Marquis of Granby yesterday! Very nice it was too.

Same chain perhaps? Although I didn't think that the Marqui was part of a larger group.

The Adelphi is part of a larger group (not sure what though) but run as an independant as far as I can tell. It may just be happy coincidence, I hope yours was as good as mine :-)

I did indeed enjoy it! Lovely food, and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing!!!

I've heard good things about La Trompette! Also Michael Nadra's in Chiswick aswell?

michael nadra's is excellent, all the restaurants he has run in chiswick have been very underrated.
