Quarter pound burgers
Discussion
We used my regular butcher for Sonic's wedding reception which was documented here:

If you don't have a regular butcher try a few local ones, buy a couple of burgers, sausages and bacon off the counter to test and then go back to the one with the best produce.
Same with bread rolls - go to your local bakery.
Best thing is, they'll value the business and look after you when you go in for a bit of bacon and half a dozen eggs in the future.

Butchers do quite large discounts for bigger orders.
I have no local butcher, and they have to be frozen.Butchers do quite large discounts for bigger orders.
Unless its tonight, then you left this very very late... Whats wrong with getting off ones arse and finding a butchers (internet is a beautiful thing) and doing a deal over the phone before picking them up, spreading the order across several houses and freezing them?
Or if you want frozen then freeze them at you location?

The internet is a beautiful thing, just go on your favourite food forum and ask the good people for their recommendations. Easy. Unless its tonight, then you left this very very late... None of the 'ideas' you gave are valid.

I live on a small Scottish island, no butchers, and am on my way up (slowly) there having landed at Manchester after a holiday in Florida.http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f...

Bread rolls are sorted, as are sausages (Preston market) and bacon (Aldi), so I was just asking if anyone knew of a great frozen 1/4 pounder.

If you haven't passed the Lakes I'll txt Sonic as he lived near Junction 35/36 and knows all the decent farm shops in the area.
Can't you just phone ahead and get one of the locals to slaughter a cow? :-)
OP if you're in that much of a rush drop in to Greenlands Farm Village, literally a mile off the M6 J35.Can't you just phone ahead and get one of the locals to slaughter a cow? :-)

If you want 100 burgers you might want to give them a bit of notice though, but id drop in and see.
Shame i don't still live up there, i could have unloaded 100 burgers from my freezer for you.

Im sure they'd stick them in the freezer for you as well if you asked.
Even if they could hose them with liquid nitrogen they're still going to be half thawed by the time the OP gets anywhere, unless he has a chiller compartment
The OP would have done well to have detoured to Shropshire as I'm in the process of defrosting the chest freezer prior to the house move - I have a bale of 100 sausages you may remember which were leftovers from the trial run and have been ringing round parents at the school trying to give stuff away!
