Been given this wine tasting offer after getting a Gourmet Society membership. I dont drink, so have no use for the voucher...

This is the voucher:

£99 for 6 people, with a free bottle thrown in. Not sure how many wines or what sort of quality you would be tasting, but you'd probably be trying around 8 bottles, and be paying for an hour and a half of someone's time. Not much room in there for margin unless the wine is very, very cheap.

It's obvious the real money is to be made by selling wine at the event - hence why they are comfortable giving you a "free" session, and expect the focus on selling!
