Service station food

Where have the scotch eggs gone from motorway services? I can't find them any more just those crap scotch bar ste any ideas anyone?

Slightly off topic, but my local Waitrose has Black Pudding Scotch Eggs. Marvellously lardy snacks.

Thank God! I've been put off them for a long time after a nasty one from a Wildbean Cafe years ago. Though the BP / Wildbean bacon rolls are getting better of late

Unless you're a lorry driver & have to stop by law or have young children in the car I can never understand why anybody would want to stop, let alone buy anything, at a motorway services.

Don't need to. I drove for a living for 13 years or more & stopped at motorway services twice, both times while breaking down. This was while driving constantly all over the UK. I absolutely hate motorway services, How much for a coffee? Keep it.

Erm, for a quick pee? I can do a stretch of driving but on a 5 hr run even I need a quick pee...

I can go longer. A pee's acceptable though because it's a must rather than a want, but of course don't buy anything while you're there.

I was driving from London to Manchester and I spontaneously craved sprite and mccoys, I stopped at a service station and bought them

I have the opposite opinion.

I'd take any B or DE service station over any in the UK (with the possible
exception of Tebay).

I dont mind one of the M&S or Waitrose based service stations. At least a half decent salad or sandwich can be obtained...
