I had one. When a colleague told me she was going to waste £15 on one I sent it to her. She used it once.

Yours has all the symptoms mine suffered with and other than telling you to not overfill it, I'd say you're better with a good sturdy masher.

Those Moulie roundy-round ricers are the best, forget the hand jobs. Remember to dry the potatoes in the pan on a low heat before riceing.

Our hand ricer works a treat. No separate plates to come unstuck and we 'rice' the potato back into the hot saucepan we just cooked it in, pop the lid back on and it doesn't get cold. Makes great mash every time.
