Went to France today (and Belgium), just for a day trip. Picked up a few nice things, saucisson sec, various cheeses, pate, Belgian waffles, rollmops etc.

I also picked up some very nice foie gras. Haven't decided what to do with it yet... tempted to save it for a Beef Wellington, although I'm inclined to think it may be too good for that.

Baguette, foie gras, knife.

That's all you need.

I'd have it with it's traditional accompaniments: a sunny evening, toasted brioche, and a chilled glass of Montbazillac.

Montbazillac is difficult to find in the UK, but not impossible. Specialist wine shops will have it.
