Any suggestions for inspiration?

Am going to cook rather than takeaway. No preferences, am quite adept in the kitchen too so don't mind rolling up the sleeves.

First course complete. Slow cooked ribs

May have some spicy/garlic chicken with noodles, however a bottle of wine is now taking effect...

I tried for years to get that takeaway taste at home, and never managed it.

Fairly recently I read about 'wok breath', namely the nuances of flavour that a well-seasoned wok itself imparts to the dish.

However I'm still no closer to achieving it irked

From my experience, the secret is deep-frying.

Tenderize some chicken thigh meat pieces, dust with cornflour and deep fry until just golden. Then fish out and stir fry with veg, and a sauce you prepared before (a couple of tablespoons stock, some soy, some vinegar, and sugar works well) then thicken the sauce with cornflour.

Gets close to resturant tasty without the glop.
