Well, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone really. I cooked it slowly in a moderate oven, having dry rubbed it with my usual mix for pulled pork.
It came out pretty crap really, amusingly large, but devoid of flavour and annoyingly difficult to eat. It seemed to be full of tendons.
One of the worst £1.75's I've ever spent!

I tried roasting one a few years back, and as above it was bloody horrible. Full of ligaments so you couldn't just bite it as you'd get a mouth full of very chewy muscle, and it tasted crap.
Exactly that! I was hoping for basically a huge, amusing chicken leg. They're utterly terrible. Most of it went in the bin.AJS- said:
Not a turkey fan either, but I did have a nice leg once in the US, barbequed with some sort of glaze (sorry can't be any more specific!). I suspect bringing it would help stop it being too dry.
Just got back from Florida. They seemed to be very popular in all the them parks..

You need to strip the tendons before cooking, then cook slowly. Confit turkey leg is a popular US recipe.
I've used them before as part of an Xmas dinner for about 90 people. Cooked the crowns as per normal and bollotined the legs with chestnut stuffing. Cooked slow then pan fried and sliced. Tasted okay and made the stuffing a bit more presentable but that's about it.
