The fermented Swedish tinned herring?

It makes the can bulge due to being so fermented and is meant to smell like rubbish left in the sun for days.

Why it's a delicacy I don't know.

Nope. I watched Andrew Zimmerman try it on 'bizarre foods' and even he looked like chucking. (He can eat anything that guy).

Apparently it becomes enjoyable when you mix it with mash.

I saw Jamie Oliver try it on one of his trips, Woooooow OH MY GOD where the words I think he used when his host pierced the tin with an opener. IIRC they served it on rounds of boiled potato he eat it and said it was OK.
