Wine - review site?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a good site (or sites) where I can read up on wines. There's loads that will tell you about the grape/region in general terms but I can't seem to find anything that will give me opinions on vintages, "scores" etc.

I'm after something that will say "Vin Plonk 1997. Rubbish. Tastes like rubber" or "Vin Expensive 2004. Lovely. Tastes right good an'at"

A lot of the large suppliers will carry reviews on their web sites from themselves and other wine writers.

Have a look at the sites for Berry Bros & Rudd, The Wine Society (lots of members reviews) and even Majestic.

Decanter is also very good and has a lot of reviews but you may need to subscribe to get full access

My concern with the sellers is that they're hardly likely to have;

"This wine is ste. Click here to add to your basket"

CellarTracker.com : Without a shadow of doubt, the most useful wine review site there is at present.

Unless of course you're a fan of Robert Parker, in which case there's eRobertParker.com (but requires subscription).

For vintage charts the one on eBob is good, but either BBR or The Wine Society as previously suggested are also worth a look.

I've tried a few of the wines that have been reviewed and his reviews seem very much in line with what I found myself.

As above Cellar Tracker or I would say of the paid one's Robert Parker or Jancis Robinson's....the former covers more ground I would say.

I'd take what most Wine Merchants say with a bucket of salt....if they were FSA regulated most of them would have been subject to heavy fines. Merchant's like BBR or Farr often have various wine writer's reviews but will often only use them when it suits.....i.e. if Parker gives a wine a bad review they won't show it or as is the case that Parker reviews a wine two or three times over the course of a few years they'll only use the best one as opposed to the most recent.
