Anyone else watching?
Good format so far, I like the palate test.
Agree! Think the palate test will certainly sort the wheat from the chaff - devious blighters. Good format so far, I like the palate test.

Welsh lad has talent. I'd like to see him go far. Lets see what the rest are like.
John managed to get a bit of 'buttery biscuit base' in without cracking too!
I think you're right there, he'll probably be there at the end.John managed to get a bit of 'buttery biscuit base' in without cracking too!
Buttery biscuit base, buttery biscuit base.

A great program as always, but John Torode is no Michel Roux Jr, that much is obvious. Nowhere near as much passion in his presenting style, nor as much finesse in love in his cooking as MRJ.
The gulf in standards between the amateurs and the pros is so obvious too, still, I like amateur Masterchef as it produces some real howlers, the kind of disasters and wild misjudged choices you don't often see on Masterchef: The Professionals.

I wish they'd change the female voice-over.
It's a different woman doing the voice this time isn't it? If its the same woman, she has either gone through a dramatic change in her voice, or they have completely altered the tone of her voice in editing. It sounds like a different woman trying to copy the original voiceover.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
