Help! Interesting meal within 20 miles of Kingston?
Discussion
Ok apologies as this at least overlaps previous threads, if not exact repost...
Hoping others will find any recommendations useful, also
I've lived in/around Surrey for most of my life, so tried many of the usual suspects (Running Horses etc.)
Now looking for an interesting place for birthday dinner on Sunday. Mother coming, so not too noisy (Smith and Weston(?)) may be out, for example.
Interesting - might have a theme, or a point of interest? We found a place that specialized in unusual Spanish wines before, for example, that was successful, watermill place in Godstone, etc.
Not averse to driving into London on a Sunday evening, if there is a point of interest? Not just for an overpriced alternative to pub grub.
Budget - reasonable, £100 for 3 would be good, absolute maximum £150 total, including everything.
So, er, any thoughts? And thanks for any help!

A favourite of mine is the Red Peppers in Esher, Surrey.
But you need to book well in advance - it's popular for a good reason!
