Thought it might be worth starting a thread for people doing the ADF diet (or just trying to lose weight in general).

What are people eating on their less than 300 calories meals?

I'll go first:

- Mixed Salad with chicken (or turkey, or beef) grilled with Walkeswood Jerk Seasoning (Plenty of cucumber to cool things down!).

- Hangar Steak (Onglette) stir fry with broccoli. Apaprently you can add brown noodles but I have just been having loads of broccoli or rice.

Any one else?

I've done the Mayo clinic diet a few times over the years, and that menu has at least 2 days (from memory) that are below 600 calories for all 3 meals of the day .

Might be an idea to look it up, bit extreme , but it works. (although the younger you are the better)

Incidentally, what is the ADF diet?

Ive been using the BBC Good Food website - it allows you to search by number of calories per serving.

Comes up with interesting stuff

That is great. I didn't realise that was an option and has just opened up a whole world of recipes!

I'm amazed by how much stuff you can eat that is low calorie.

Be warned and check them carefully - I've just been looking at one that came back in the 200 - 400 group but actually had almost 700 per serving

Luckily though the nutritional value is included at the bottom of most of the recipes.
