Well, I said back in the hot pan, not on the heat. But if you do want to put it on the heat, you need to stir it all the time so it doesn't burn. That should make sure all the water is gone Cheers

I found that dried the spag a bit too much, even with low heat for maybe 30 secs, will try without extra heat next time.
I'm glad the OP posted this up, i've been wondering (not with much conviction obviously!) how to solve this for years!

Out of the pan, into the drainer, bit of a shake, back to the pan. Butter in, shake pan.
By the time the butter has melted, water will be gone.
