Has anyone here (ideally in the UK) managed to order from a fast food chain's secret menu?

Following a few conversation in the office, one of our American colleagues claims to have had a "land, sea and air burger" from McDonalds (beef patty, fillet-o-fish and McChicken thingy).

A quick Google suggests this is quite big in the US - In-n-out, starbucks, burger king etc all appear to offer it.

However, The lads in the office are fancying a crack at this... so has anyone actually managed this is Blighty?

Why don't they simply list these on the menus they display?

Frequently 'special order' in McD's - just ask for a QP sans onion and you get a hot fresh one 3 mins later instead of a lukewarm one made 6 hours ago.

My requests for double QP's are frequently denied paperbag

We always used to order a Quarter Pounder Deluxe as kids from our local Mcd's, it had fresh salad in it and cooked to order, they never blinked at being asked for one despite not being on the menu, not tried in ages though, has anyone else ever had one?

I've been meaning to go to McDs and ask for one of the breakfast sandwiches that usually come with the nasty folded omlet to come with a "round egg" instead.

its the circular fried egg from a McMuffin, much better.

Thinking of that, can you get a burger with an egg on it? In the USA they merge the Breakfast and Daytime menus between midnight and 8am so in theory you could get a quarter pounder with egg and cheese?

Sounds like you're talking about a Mc10.35 - a sausage and egg mcmuffin inside a quarter pounder with cheese. only available at that breakfast/lunch crossover period.

Back when I was a lad working at a fast food chain, I remember a crewmember making up burger with pork instead of beef at "10.31". They were all binned immediately.

If my local MaccyD's is anything to go by, if you order anything that's different from the main menu, they will just fk it up anyway. Can't even get ice/no ice right in the drinks 90% of the time!

The McGangBang is my personal 'weapon of choice', but I mainly have to make it myself.

Any deviation from standard would slow down the production line?.

Not quite the same thing, but a while back I was doing a Burger King run and took orders from co-workers. Someone asked for a Whopper meal but wanted the burger cut in half. I thought it was a wind up, told him I refused to go into Burger King and make a fool of myself, but he insisted that is how he always got them. Never seen that in the 20+ years I have been frequenting BK, but sure enough the person taking the order never batted an eyelid and he got his burger cut in half.

Shouldn't be allowed really. biggrin

How come some of the McDonalds will make you a double quarter pounder with cheese and some won't? They're bloody brilliant!
