Parking for Borough Market

We have lunch at Roast (Borough Market) tomorrow - is there a nearby place to park? Don't mind paying.... I seem to recall the last time I went there, I drove and parked about 5 mins walk away but can't for the life of me remember where it was. Any suggestions?

If still there turn right to past the dungeons. Do a u turn under the railway the there is /was a car park on somew land on the one war stretch that heads back to borough high st. Have look on google maps it should show up.

Off borough high st, down tooley st, do a U turn under the railway, back down st thomas st. Outdoor carpark between vinegar yard and fenning st

would love to go to borough market for some stuff, but me living in kent and only having a motorbike licence makes it a bit tricky, dont really want to leave my bike alone in london as it would probably get stolen... and the train is never getting used.

When I've had to drive to Guy's Hospital on a weekend I've parked in a pay and display on St Thomas Street. It's restricted to permit holders during the week but on weekends is £2.50 an hour, which is a lot less than the NCP at £4.50.

On this map the car park is where Guy's Bar is located.

There is a hotel - called The Southwark Rose - a few doors up that has a car park open to non residents. I used it whenever I'm filming at Borough

London Dungeons are by the London Eye now, not Tooley street, so don't follow signs to them if you want to park nere Borough Market

Why don't you want to use the train? Loads of Kent lines run in to London Bridge and the market is just across the road. Surely it's the perfect solution? You can even have a few swift half's before you go home.

Although bike theft is bad around here I wouldn't let that worry you especially if you are visiting during the day. Best way to get to and park in London.

I've owned bikes since 1979 and the only one I have had stolen, so far, was my brand new CBR600 back in 1988. That was in the South of France.

Although I have had 3 attempts that I know of, on my current Street Triple, in the past 3 years

Your bike will be fine and as another poster has said, get the train into London bridge - it's literally across the road from the market and there are some superb pubs dotted around. Sounds like a brilliant day out to me.

To the OP - had dinner in Roast a few months ago - I had a very good steak and the Mrs has some venison which was also delicious. Enjoy.

In the end we parked in David A's recommendation (thanks for that) and had a 10 minute walk to the market. It was a foodie heaven. We had a 12.30 lunch booking at Roast but after all the free samples in the market we weren't exactly starving. Nevertheless it was a great lunch. During the week it is a business lunch venue (white tablecloths etc) but on the weekend it is much more laid back. We drove up from Winchester so for anyone considering it, don't let the distance put you off - it's the best market I've been to in the UK. Needless to say, the boot was full of goodies on the way back...

TBF, Roast is a fantastic place for great honest unstuffy British cuisine. Never had a bad experience there whatever the day of the week.
