Champagne Tasting in Reims

Does anyone have any recommendations for champagne tasting in Reims, we have done a number of the Cave tours before. So wanting to try and find a bar that stocks a good selection?

Needs to be in Reims itself as I want wanna drive afterwards,

I have done piper heidseik and tattibger tours in reims. Piper was much bette. I have never seen so many bottles in one place. .
Cant say anything about bars though as we ended up in an irish bar near the centre of town drinking copius amounts of kronnenburg.

I've been to that one - it was the only place that was open. It does sell champagne though.

I just got back from Reims, staying there for the weekend. I didn't notice any champagne bars, mostly pubs and clubs. The PH'er I was with was a local frog (well, grew up there at least), so he might know.

The Champagne route to the east of Reims is worth a drive, quite nice roads though the vineyards.

smack - that's what I noticed about Reims. No champagne bars (that I saw) - just restaurants which shut early.

After 9pm it was impossible to get in anywhere other than the gay nightclub, or the irish bar.

We never visited the Irish bar, ate at restaurants late, and found normal bars and clubs - but we were with locals!

I ate in a nice restaurant in Epernay a few years ago and they had an extensive wine card that included many different Champagnes that you could order by the glass. Might be worth having a look at some of these as an option. I can't remember the name but I'm sure it wasn't the only one.
