Where can I buy a burger bun like McDonalds?

Just wondering really - the burgers aren't up to much, but i do like the bun - quite sweet in taste.

Can something similar be purchased?

One a related note, I noticed McDonalds branded (and produced) bottles of mayo in a hyperdino supermarket in Tenerife, didn't know they sold outside of the franchises.

Not sure you will find a bun exactly like the ones used in McDonald's. They have their own bakeries that produce specifically for them.

The sugar content is to allow the surface that comes into contact with the toaster to caramelise and hence produce a 'crust' to stop the condiments soaking into the bun.

Brioche buns are always a winner for burgers, they should be easy enough to get hold of.

Really? I vaguely understand liking the sweetness, but the processed spongy texture is revolting. I'd add the sweetness with fried onions or relish.

Done properly, brioche buns on burgers are stunning. I've had lamb burgers with mint jelly and brioche buns before-stunning...

M&S have an "Ultimate Burger Bun" which is a light brioche mix. Very nice and only slightly sweet.

That Big Mac special sauce is really just a variation of Thousand Island salad dressing. Look up a recipe and fiddle with it to taste.

When I cook burgers I give them a minute in the microwave when everything's in the bun. Makes it more mcdonaldsy.

Big Tasty has a different sauce to a Big Mac.

New York bagel company or whatever they are called, the ones in every supermarket.
They do cinnamon and raisin etc.

The plain original ones have the taste your looking for. Bit more substantial and obviously have a hole in the middle but they work quite well.
