Do continentals eat cheese and jam sarnies for breakfast?
Discussion
Just been told that I am not cultured enough as I've never heard of or seen continentals eating cheese and jam sandwiches for breakfast.
I have been to Europe quite a bit, and I do know they serve a very wide selection of meats, cheeses, breads and jams etc for breakfasts in European Hotels, but I've not come across this delicacy.
Or am I an uncultured peasant?

I've seen my Estonian relatives eat 'quark' - a soft cheese a bit like smooth cottage cheese - in a bowl with a blob of jam in the middle for breakfast, but never a hard cheese with jam, and never in a sandwich.
Cheese and ham together in a roll is a common breakfast combo - sure you didn't mishear?

I'm pretty sure as it turned into a mass debate Cheese and ham together in a roll is a common breakfast combo - sure you didn't mishear?
The girl who started this stunningly intellectual office debate thinks herself a bit posh and is always bragging about her trips to Dubai etc and her house in Salford Quays. This is just another one of her attempts at making herself look superior and cultured and failing miserably.I'm always bemused by the fact that "Foreigners" really believe that we Continentals actually eat that stuff for breakfast because. I'm sure they form that opinion solely based on what hotels in the Continent serve for breakfast.
In reality, we, like almost everyone else in the developed Western world, tend to have sweet rather than savoury breakfasts, usually toast/bread with butter and jam, and milk & cereals.
