Caribbean/reggae party food ideas?
Discussion
Having a reggae/rasta themed party next weekend (did a Mexican party last year and was a right laugh, everyone dressed up, chilli com carne, tequila slammers, pintada etc)
So I'm looking for some easy to eat "party food"
Some kind of jerk meat is a must (but not on the none for ease of eating/mess), with some coconut rice and pea perhaps?
Reggae reggae chicken burgers?
A few rum based cocktails, piña colada and mojito perhaps,
Any suggestions/advice would be great

Yeh wanted to do a goat curry actually, would my local butcher be able to get goat meat?
And I do love a good red stripe
Seeing as you're in Wokingham a trip into Reading isn't too far. I'm pretty sure the butcher's in Smelly Alley does goat meat. If you're stuck for spices and plantain and stuff the guy in the market wed-sat is good and reasonably priced. Aside from fresh fish and meat I tend to get everything from him. And I do love a good red stripe

Failing that I'm certain most of the halal butchers do goat meat. I'm a veggie now so its been a while since I've bought goat but I vaguely remember buying it on the Wokingham and Oxford Roads in the past.

Interesting. That's different to how most Bajan's cook it. In a very quick description.
Boil Pasta
Seperate pot slowly heat some milk
add a bit of plain flour,
small bit of mustard
black pepper
all purpose seasoning
small bit of brown sugar
bit of crushed garlic
grate cheese in
add pasta back and stir
put in grease proof dish and add more cheese then some sliced tomato for decoration and whatever herbs are to hand sprinkled over the top. Wack in the oven for 20 mins or so till golden and crispy on top.
