London Restaurant recommendation please

Can anyone recommend a decent restaurant in St Pancreas area, close to Renaissance Hotel?

Budget £80-100 per head

Preferably English food, if that even exists these days!

How close does it have to be ? 10 or 15 mins in a cab close enough ?

Yes it's a pub but the food is superb and most definitely British, they have an upstairs dining room which is more formal for the restaurant feel.

Best fish and chips I have had anywhere....triple cooked chips are off the charts good.

Better food than most restaurants which it should be as the food is more expensive than your normal pub but then it's not pub food.

Both Caravan and Grain Store are excellent and a short walk from KX.

I've heard good things about the Gilbert Scott in St Pancras, worth a look?

Can vouch for excellence in both! You wont go far wrong with eithera nd I would suggest that a short cab will make Odette's feel a little more special than simply wandering in to the Gilbert Scott. But in St Pancras, I quite like the Fizz bar upstairs if it is busy..... pre dinner drinks?

And I agree, more like 10 mins in a cab
