I saw it on "The Incredible Spice Men" and it just looked so exotic and alluring that I'd like to touch it and smell it - just for the experience.I'd be surprised if you can buy it as a fresh fruit, it's usually picked when it starts to split or falls to the floor so unlikely to travel well. It's then opened and the mace removed and dried separately from the nutmeg, I wasn't even aware the flesh was used for anything so would be a waste of money to export.
The only time I've had the mace still around the nutmeg shell is when I've had some brought back for me from Grenada where they got it direct from the farms.
