The badachro inn. Gairloch
I like Badachro a lot, as I do the Mishnish on Mull... but (as I say all the time) the Highlands do most things best, but they do rather fall short in the boozer dept. Applecross and Kylesku do somewhat buck the trend.I could name 4 or 5 Cotswolds Inns that are great - with really, really fab food... but having been all over the UK I think The Kirkstile Inn by Loweswater in Cumbria is the best mix of atmosphere, micro brewed beer, home cooked food and a glorious setting. My top tip. If you're in the Lakes... go.

The Black Bull on Leith Street in Edinburgh. Good beer, great rock jookie and £2.15 bourbon of the week.
