Lidl Ceramic Knives
Discussion
Chaps,
Quickie - has anyone bought a ceramic knife from Lidl recently? They have had an offer on for the last week or so, with a paring knive being £5.99 and a chefs knife being £7.99.
I bought a chef's knife yesterday and have used it (briefly) last night. Firs impressions are that it's ... odd. It's sharp, but didn't strike me as being enormously so. It also felt quite wide and clumsy - and peculiarly light and plastic-y (although that's down the the fact that it is white and light.)
Has anyone else bought any of these knives? How do they compare with other ceramics - particularly the more expensive Kyocera knives. I'm curious to know.
Oli.

I haven't used one of the cheap ones, but have 3 Kyocera knives, which, with a diamond wheel sharpener can be kept very sharp indeed. They are best used for fine work with vegetables. Not great for meat, but are pretty good with oily fish. Might take a look at a cheap one myself. Quickie - has anyone bought a ceramic knife from Lidl recently?
