Ive just made a chilli con carne and pasta bake and im freezing 3 portions of each.

How long do home made concocktions like this last in the freezer? My aim is to eat them within the month.

Chili will last in the freezer for a year, easily. Beyond that, the fat in the meat will start to go rancid.

This won't make you ill, all it means is that it won't taste as nice.

ETA: For any recipe that's a bit of a faff to make, I make twice the quantity and freeze it for a speedy meal at a later date. Jambalaya sauce, slow-roasted tomato sauce for pasta or pizza, chicken stock, pizza dough, satay sauce and jerk marinade are all in the freezer at the moment.

I also freeze chicken and game carcasses until I've got enough to make stock.

Chilli, mashed potato, and beefburgers are my freezer faves. You can microwave the first two from frozen.
