So for the first time ever me and Mrs-C have Christmas Day to ourselves. Not being fans of the shenannigans usually involved we're off to the beach for the day with the dogs.

We're taking their supper (Turkey, Rice, Veg and a flask of gravy) and aiming to cook and eat there ourselves - we'll have a decent fishing bivvy for shelter and a two burner camping stove. Dinner will be a pre-made fish stew (warmed up on the stove) and home made bread followed by Christmas Pudding and Brandy Cream.

Mrs-C has requested Prawn Cocktail for a starter but I've never liked the idea of having fish\seafood for both a starter and a main.

So what I want are ideas for a different starter - needs to be able to be pre-made and then either eaten cold or warmed through on the day.

Cheers thumbup

Paté de foie gras on toasted brioche. Get the proper French stuff from Comptoir Gascon rather than anything raised in Eastern Europe.
