It is pretty manky stuff.so post deleted in deference to your feelings smile

When pregnant with daughter #1,mrs K had a craving for the stuff,we had to go to the cinema to get a tub of nachos with a ton of cheese on it to satisfy her....no film, just cheese! Most nights smile

Once microwaved it's not bad and very nice on bbq burgers if left to just melt a bit with the bbq lid on

That's probably the same % cheese as the stuff the op is referring to!

no.

your best bet would be to import it or try and get in touch with a company that supplies cinemas with theirs

Yeah you can get it:

Full of crap and additives though, it's liable to make your head explode.

Being Texan in spirit (half my family live there) I made some recently using the squeezy cheese mentioned above (to replace the velveet. It was - no doubt - horrendously bad for us, but the bowl was clean afterwards smile

Very simple recipe but I've done it and it actually works. Such a guilty pleasure, I feel dirty just admitting that I've made it.

I remember something called 'Cheez Wiz' which was quite a favourite among the UCLA exchange students at uni.

Squirty cheese in an aerosol can. It tasted even more disgusting than it sounds.

My friend that worked in a cinema told me it is a concentrated syrup which needs mixing with water and usually near the end of the night they would just add more water to the mix, hence why you sometimes get very runny cheese sauce for your nachos.
