Burger King breakfast

Anyone else tried it?. Had one today, very nice, need to sort the prices though, but makes a change from the golden arches.

Ive had one and very nice it was too. i realy liked the hash browns that came like nuggets rather than the usual greasy pressed potato slab. I still like my double sausage and egg mc muffin but these do make a nice change.

I think mcd's popularity is its familiarity tbh, and its pricing which must be loss leading on some things now. I mean when was the last time you saw a bk advert? We desperately need competition in this country, one of the best things about usa is the variety, yes I know we'll never get that, but leaving aside wimpy, we have two burger outlets in the uk, meaning genuine fast food types.

I think that is very true. It would be nice to see a bit of competition. I wish we could get Dennys to open up over here. I got slightly addicted to the grand slam breakfasts while in florida. By the way does Wendys still exist in the u.k. ? I used to like those square burgers. The one in Leeds that opened years ago was only around for a matter of months before Maccy d took over and ruined it

As with most interesting US chains - when they come over here they always seems to get screwed up in comparison to the oridgnal USA ones...

Not sure if it is the quality of the ingrediants but its never as good here .. Just take a look at 5 guys or Shake Shack- lovely in the US but a bit crap here...

Yep, krispey kreme are doing just that. For several years they sold american style donuts, now they are like greggs donuts, why change things?. Taco Bell opened two stores down last year, don't know of they are still going, typically they butchered the menu and watered it down for us Brits. A Wendy's in the uk? Wow, missed that. Maybe we just aren't profitable enough for them, but I did notice dunkin donuts is starting up again in London.

Taco Bell in Manchester is nothing like the ones in the USA only 1/4 of the USA menu

god I'd love a real Taco Bell right now.

For budget chain fast food joints, I always found Wendy's to be the best stateside. It'd be great if they launched in the UK with the same menu.

They used to have Wendy's here but not seen one around for years now. They were brilliant.

Overpried and pretentious can't see them surviving outside a big city. I think the op is talking about salt of the earth food, low prices but tasty grease, which the US is good at.

There's a 5 guys in Reading. The menu looks very expensive. Haven't tried it yet but its had some hit and miss reviews so far.

Shakeshack and five guys are brilliant in the states, certainly not overpriced or pretentious.

Dunno about their UK franchises though.

There's a cavernous gap in the market for someone to bridge between MacDonalds / BK and the huge drop in quality to Wimpy and independent burger bars and vans.

We need more choice but there seems to be a huge amount of inertia and scepticism when a new venture comes to town.

I'd love to see a drive through format burger and chicken restaurant with real barbecue pork and brisket. It wouldn't have to be as cheap as McD or BK - I'd happily pay for the quality and variation but I'm not sure everyone would.

A tough market to crack.

Five Guys want £9 for a burger - other than novelty value in a location like London I can't see it catching on as to me that isn't fast food.

Shake Shack is also quite interesting if you compare the cost of pretty much anything on their US menu with stuff on their UK menu - again it all seems about novelty and an "experience" rather than somewhere like BK or Macdonald's where it's cheap fast food.

I didn't know that. Still, I'd feel like a bit of a dick for ordering one when they've probably put the salad and burger sauces away.

For anyone who thinks BK are more expensive, what you want is a "King of the Day" meal. £4 for regular size.
